24 - 28 September, 2018 | SwissTech Convention Center - EPFL Campus, Lausanne, Switzerland
Submission Deadline: March 19, 2018

The conference is independently run by an International Steering Committee of eminent personalities in the field and the evaluation of submissions is carried out by an independent and international Technical Committee of top experts from the global fibre sensing community.

The conference format is based on a single-track session of plenary, invited and contributed oral presentations. The selection of oral presentations is highly selective (<10% of the submissions) and the program is complemented by 3 poster sessions of high quality standard.

  • The 26th OFS will essentially keep the format that made the success of the previous OFS conferences, with the following novelties introduced for OFS-26: via the OSA Publishing article submission system. All accepted papers will be included in OSA Publishing, with the Open Access option at no extra fee.
  • An increased visibility and impact for the technical exhibition, with an easy access to the booths for attendees and a special session dedicated to presentations and demonstrations by exhibitors (off the scientific programme).

Papers presenting original work within the conference scope, but not limited to, are invited for submission:

  1.  Physical, mechanical, and electromagnetic sensors (including acoustic sensors)
  2. Chemical, environmental, biological and medical sensors and biophotonics
  3. Interferometric, polarimetric and laser based sensors (including gyroscopes and resonators)
  4. Micro- and nano-structured fibre sensors (including photonic crystal fibre and grating based sensors)
  5. Distributed and multiplexed sensing and sensor networking
  6. Other technologies (including imaging-related and those based on smart-phone platforms).
  7. Environmental, security, defence and industrial applications; technology commercialisation and standardisation
  8. Smart structures (including structural health monitoring and photonics in additive manufacturing)
  9. New elements (fibres, devices and subsystems), effects (e.g., plasmonics), technologies (including nanophotonics) and materials (e.g., meta- and structured-materials etc.) for photonic sensing
  10. Integrated photonics, cavity opto-mechanics and quantum sensing techniques, precision metrology, frequency combs
