Celebrating the International Day of Light, the Portuguese Society for Optics and Photonics, in the frames of AOP2026 conference, is organizing a digital photography contest, Digital Photography Contest "Light & Optics – from Lab to Life".
The photos must be taken in the period May 16 to July 9, 2026, and should focus on the Light, Optics and Photonics and its relation, and increasing importance, to the everyday life.
Photos can be digitally edited/processed.
The photos (up to 3 per participant) should be uploaded, www.optica.pt/idl2026/submissions, by July 9 at 23:59 GMT (the name of each picture file should include an abbreviated title/name of the photo and the first name initial and last name of the author). The results will be announced at the closing ceremony of the AOP2026 conference (www.aop2026.org) July 10, 2026 at 12:00 (GMT).
