November 25–26, 2026 | Will be held virtually

Abstract submission deadline: September 4, 2026

The 1st RIAO Young Researchers Forum (1 RIAO–J) will be held virtually on November 25–26, 2026. Organized by the Ibero-American Optics Network (RIAO), this international meeting is dedicated to early-career scientists, providing a global platform to showcase and promote emerging research in optics and photonics. The forum invites contributions from undergraduate (Bachelor’s), Master’s, and PhD students, as well as early-stage postdoctoral researchers.

Topics: Submissions are welcome across all fields of optics and photonics, as well as their diverse applications.

Presentation formats

  • Oral: Available exclusively to young researchers whose work has been recognized with an award or distinction at a recent national or international conference (proof of recognition required). The talk may include recent updates to the research.
  • Electronic Poster (E-Poster): Open to all early-career researchers.

The Scientific Committee will review the submitted abstracts and assign the final presentation format. An international jury will evaluate the presentations to select the award recipients, with prizes including a cash award. For those who wish to attend the forum without presenting a paper, attendance-only registration is warmly welcomed.

Please note that the early-career requirement applies only to primary presenters; co-authors and general attendees of all career stages are welcome to participate.

Language Policy: The official languages of the forum are English, Spanish, and Portuguese. While the one-page abstract must be written in English, Oral an E-poster presentations may be delivered in any of the three official languages.

Registration Notice: Participation is entirely free of charge, but registration is mandatory for all presenters and attendees.
